CITRUS & PINELLIA is an herbal extract formula named after its two central plants (or, in Chinese terminology, the "emperor plants" of the formula).

The origin of the herbal composition in the formula is in an ancient prescription from the 11th century AD.
According to the Chinese medicine books (Umbrella Medica), this composition is ER CHEN TANG.
The Chinese name means "two beards" because the two central plants in the formula undergo drying and processing, which aim to give them "drying" qualities in situations of congestion and excess fluid that interfere with light breathing.
