CITRUS & PINELLIA is an herbal extract formula named after its two central plants (or, in Chinese terminology, the "emperor plants" of the formula).
The herbal composition of the formula is based on an ancient 11th-century AD prescription. According to the Chinese medicine books (Umbrella Medica), this composition is ER CHEN TANG. The Chinese name means "two beards" because the two central plants in the formula undergo drying and processing to impart "drying" qualities in situations of congestion and excess fluid that interfere with light breathing.
