Boswellia resin belongs to the Burseraceae family and originates from Asia and Africa. The use of frankincense tree resin is documented as far back as the time of the Temple in the Land of Israel.

Its Hebrew name - Frankincense- symbolizes its purifying and sanctifying quality.
